Ray D. Lamb
In the late 1960’s Ray went to Chouinard Art Institute in
Los Angeles. He knew he could not dabble at painting
and not wanting to be a starving artist or play the artist
agent games, popular at the time, he had no choice, he
stopped painting.
In 2011 the economy forced Ray to close his Real Estate
office after more than 25 years. Art has always been on
his mind and now he could pursue it. His old paint,
brushes and works were brought out of storage even
though he had told his wife to throw them out 35 years
before. Space was cleared and off he went to continue
his artistic journey.
He works in oils with special attention to archival quality
materials and enjoys of wide variety of subjects and
styles. His water themed painting are inspired by what he
sees and photographs on his scuba diving adventures.
As a second generation Californian, raised in the
southern CA mountains, the diverse landscapes also
inspire paintings.
